So yeah…I guess I’m borderline obsessed with this show. I just finished watching season 1 and I can’t wait to watch the 2nd season. Why aren’t more people watching it? Why is it in danger of being canceled? If you’re not watching it, you’re missing out on a lot.

It’s a show about football, as you might have guessed from seeing the cast picture. But it’s also much more than that. I have never watched a game of football and I understand squat about it, but here I am, obsessing about this show. It’s a critically-acclaimed, beautifully written, and well-acted series that grabs you from the first episode. It is set in the fictional town of Dillon, Texas where football is practically a religion.
Why aren’t you watching?!
- In the pilot episode, the town’s star quarterback Jason Street (#6, played by Scott Porter) is injured during the first game of his last year as a Dillon Panther. We later learn that he is paralyzed and will probably not be able to walk again. His girlfriend Lyla Garrity (played by the beautiful Minka Kelly) later cheats on him with his best friend Tim Riggins (#33, played by the gorgeous Taylor Kitsch), who is every girl’s wet dream (at least he’s mine).
- Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton (who play Coach Taylor and his wife Tami Taylor) have amazing chemistry. They make you believe that they have been married for a long time but are still absolutely in love with each other. Their scenes are always so funny and smart, they make you wish they were your parents. Not to say that their daughter Julie always does.
- The show is shot documentary-style, with 3 hand-held cameras following the actors at all times. Most of the dialogue is improvised, so there aren’t a lot of those cheesy lines. It’s realistic, it’s gripping and it’s smart.

- He plays Tim Riggins. Really, you need more reasons!?

- Okay, you must be a guy. She plays Lyla Garrity.
So really…I don’t get why you’re not watching it yet.
