A while back, I got obsessed with the show House, mainly because Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) is the funniest cranky doctor out there…and partly because Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer) is the cutest. I read somewhere about Hugh Laurie’s band with Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman from Heroes) and James Denton (sexy plumber Mike on Desperate Housewives) and I thought it was pretty cool of them to start a band that donates 100% of its profits to various charities.

I saw them perform with Teri Hatcher on last year’s Idol Gives Back and I nearly had a spazz when I realized that Jesse Spencer is actually part of the band. He plays the fiddle/violin.

I don’t know how it started, but I started googling Band from TV (that’s their name, cute eh?!) tonight and now here I am writing about them.

So here are the band members:

(L-R starting from the top) Hugh Laurie on keyboards; Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli on Heroes) on guitar; Jesse Spencer on the fiddle/violin; Greg Grunberg on the drums; Teri Hatcher on vocals; James Denton on guitar.

Not pictured are Bonnie Somerville (Mona on FRIENDS) and Bob Guiney (don’t know him) who are both vocalists.

They’ve also had other stars guest star with them on stage like:

Zachary Levi (Chuck. He really reminds me of John Krasinski. Or maybe Chuck reminds me of Jim. Meh. I have ADD.), Hayden Panettiere (Claire on Heroes) and James Kyson Lee (Ando on Heroes) among others.

And guess what? I have videos!!

Video quality are not the best, but meh.

They have an album as well as a DVD out called Hoggin All The Covers which is sold exclusively at Amazon, I think.

Got this from Yoe’s blog. This kid is awesome!

It’s alarming, really. How does it happen? I mean, I did not actively choose to do it…but I think I’ve suddenly started to mature. I just find it all surprising, especially now that I’m obsessing over this British chick lit about a bunch of teenagers.

I can still remember telling my friends how they’re all so responsible and grown up and how I refuse to take on any responsibilities myself. But now, I’ve just realized that I’m actually a bit more mature than I was a few weeks ago. I’m waking up early for work (or at least early for me). And because of that, I’m falling asleep earlier too. Which is weird for me. I no longer procrastinate when I have work to do. Which results to me panicking when I have nothing to do on certain days because I won’t have anything to pretend to do when the boss is in.

The most shocking ‘mature’ bit for me happened today at lunch. I actually ate chop suey. And I liked it! A few months ago, I would’ve thought ‘erlack!’ but today, I was thinking ‘yum, more please!’ How weird is that?! My uncle even commented about it, he said he wanted to say ‘Sash…those are vegetables, you know?!’

I’m even trying to save what little money I have. Ok, so it’s for this beautiful pair of headphones I’ve been eyeing for a while now, but still, I’m saving money.

I’m a little relieved, though, because my way of saving money is to avoid buying books. And how do I do this? By getting my mom to buy them for herself! Now I know that’s not very mature.

Let’s all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Sasha is not fully mature. Yet.

…isn’t so bad when you have this crazy group to celebrate it with.

My single friends and I decided to celebrate Valentines together and call it SAD (Singles Awareness Day). Which, incidentally, my mom found really amusing. She texted to her friends about it, saying that her daughter who is single is meeting with her unnattached friends to celebrate SAD. Tons of her single friends replied and told her that they should celebrate with us. One even sent her a long text about how he is a part of SAD but he’s not sad, etc. It was really very touching. Haha! Our SAD is popular with the oldies.

Anyway, we (Madz, Nikki, Leia, Lala, Dan and yours truly) all met at Rockwell around 6pm to buy tickets for the movie Push. Of course, it being Singles Awareness Day, and Lala and Dan were technically not single, they had to choose seats separate from ours. Also, they went off to have dinner together, and us single ladies went our own way.

We had dinner at this Italian place whose name escapes me, something like Pizza Pazzo or something. We ordered this new rolled up pizza (which was actually pretty good and fun to eat), a seafood pasta and the Gorgonzola Ravioli which was awesome! We loved it so much, Madz ordered another one.

After that, we went to go see the movie. But Kuya Dale called me to ask me to meet him outside. So I went with Nikki and he came with Arnold and they had roses for us girls. They were from Altair, apparently, who couldn’t make it because he had a party to attend to. We have such sweet guy friends. We arranged to meet at Starbucks, Taft after the movie.

The movie wasn’t that great, but it was worth it to see drunk!Dakota. She’s adorable. And she looked so funky.

So after the movie, Lala told us they’ll meet us at Starbucks so the four of us went ahead. We weren’t really sure how to get to Taft from Rockwell, but we managed surprisingly well. We were singing like idiots in the car the whole time.

So we finally met up with this lot (+ some of Kuya Dale’s friends) at the new Starbucks on Taft. It’s right next to our old college and it wasn’t that packed like the old one across the street. And that’s where we spent the rest of the night, talking, laughing, taking pictures and being silly.

Then the driver came to pick me up and Madz had to get going because whenever she’s driving, her parents don’t like her to stay out late.

And that was my Valentine’s Day. Who knew I would enjoy a day for lovers when I’m single? Huh.

…when 13-year-olds are fathering babies?

Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.

He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.

The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.

“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”

I feel bad for the kid, he clearly does not know what he’s in for. But it really makes you think, how young will the next generations start having sex and reproducing?

When I have children, I’m making them all wear chastity belts until they’re 18.

Sorry it’s a bit late. Hope you all had a good Valentines. I shall post about mine as soon as a friend who shall remain nameless (Madz) gets off her lazy bum and uploads the pictures. 🙂

Oh noooez! Allen Iverson cut his hair! 😦

I love him either way, but I really preferred the rows.

Let’s celebrate!! *WHOOO!*

So this blog is one year old today. I remember, my first ever post here was about Friday Night Lights, and the hotness that was Taylor Kitsch/Tim Riggins. 🙂 He’s still hot, btw.

So yay! Thanks for reading and for giving me pageviews and putting me on your blogrolls even though you don’t know me personally and commenting and everything. Here’s to more updates and silly things. Hurrah! (Hurrah?!?!)

Just an FYI for the guys out there. Hahaha
